The Arizona Diamondbacks have acquired Eugenio Suarez in a trade with the Seattle Mariners, filling their vacancy at third base and adding much-needed power to their lineup.

The Mariners received right-hander Carlos Vargas and veteran catcher Seby Zavala for Suarez, who has belted at least 21 home runs in each of the past seven full seasons.

The Guardians traded starter Cal Quantrill to the Rockies on Friday for minor league catcher Kody Huff.

Quantrill had an injury-plagued 2023 season for Cleveland, a year after he won 15 games and helped the Guardians win the American League Central. The team designated the 28-year-old pitcher for assignment earlier this week.

The Braves jettisoned two more arbitration-eligible players in two separate trades with Kansas City on Friday, sending right-handers Kyle Wright and Nick Anderson to the Royals.

Atlanta acquired right-hander Jackson Kowar in the Wright deal. Anderson was traded for $100,000.

The Seattle Mariners acquired infielder Luis Urías from the Boston Red Sox for right-handed pitcher Isaiah Campbell on Friday.

The Atlanta Braves have acquired Aaron Bummer from the Chicago White Sox in exchange for a five-player package.

Bummer, a left-handed reliever, had a 6.79 ERA that was nearly double his FIP in 2023.

The Braves sent right-hander Michael Soroka, left-hander Jared Shuster, shortstop Braden Shewmake, infielder Nicky Lopez and right-hander Riley Gowens to the White Sox.

Veteran outfielder Mark Canha is on the move again, with the Milwaukee Brewers trading him to the Detroit Tigers on Saturday rather than picking up his option for the 2024 season.

The Brewers acquired minor league pitcher Blake Holub in the deal.
